Solar batteries in Morocco: capacity, uses and selection

Start with your intended use: consuming solar electricity in the evening and supplying appliances during an outage require different configurations.

List equipment and operating times

Record each appliance, its power and required running time. Lighting, refrigeration and Internet access differ from air conditioning. The professional should account for starting peaks and simultaneous loads.

Understand kWh and kW

Kilowatt-hours measure energy; kilowatts measure instantaneous power. A 500-watt appliance running for two hours theoretically uses 1 kWh, before losses. A large energy capacity does not guarantee that several powerful appliances can run together.

Compare usable capacity

Ask for usable energy, the manufacturer's required reserve, conversion losses and warranty conditions. Nominal capacity is not always available capacity. Clarify how performance is warranted over time.

Check compatibility

Specify exact battery and inverter references in the quote. Adding storage to an existing installation requires a visit to establish compatibility and any equipment changes.

Clarify backup operation

A battery does not automatically provide backup. This requires an appropriate architecture and safe isolation from the grid. Ask which circuits are supported, the available power and how the function will be tested at commissioning.

Choose a suitable location

Temperature, ventilation and safety must follow the manufacturer's documentation. Have a professional design and connect the system; retain manuals, warranties and operating instructions.

Frequently asked questions

Is storage essential? No: compare proposals with and without it according to your demand and goals. Can it be added later? This depends on system architecture and compatibility; clarify this in the first quote. Prepare bills and an appliance list for Novasolar, and consult our photovoltaic quote guide.
